Description

1x tuber of Arisaema fargesii. These will need one further year of growth before flowering.

Arisaema fargesii is an unfussy and vigorous species that is closely related to Arisaema candidissimum and Arisaema franchetianum. The flattish pinky brown tubers multiply easily through small offsets.

The spathe is strongly hooded and striped brown and white, with the spadix hidden deep inside. Eventually, Arisaema fargesii can reach large proportions. The leaf will be ‘tear shaped’ (hastate) in young plants. As the tuber increases in size, this leaf becomes trifoliate.

In our experience, this is one of the best species for planting out in the garden. A semi-shaded position in good ‘leafy’ soil is perfect.
