Dracunculus contains only 2 species, with Dracunculus vulgaris from Crete being the most widely cultivated. The other, Dracunculus canariensis is found on the Canary Islands of Tenerife and Gran Canaria. It is sadly now rather rare in the wild, and is also tender, making it only suited for a grower who can provide some winter warmth.

Both have large and impressive spathes along with intereting foliage.

Available seasonally – late summer through to early winter.
