The genus Synandrospadix contains only one species – Synandrospadix vermitoxicus. Originating from South America, it is closely related to the genus Gorgonidium and Spathantheum.

Synandrospadix vermitoxicus is rarely offered for sale, mainly as it does not reliably produce offsets, however, it is an easy species to care for and one that reliably takes to pot cultivation.
