Allium christophii, sometimes known as the Star of Persia, comes from Iran, Turkey and Turkmenistan. It has proven itself to be one of the most reliable Allium species here for growing in the garden.
Making stems to around 40cm in height topped with very large heads of pale purple star shaped flowers. These are long lasting, resistant to all the UK weather can throw at them, and seem excellent for pollinators. A brilliant garden plant.
Although widely available as bulbs or plants, Allium christophii is easily raised from seed too.
