Description
These Amorphophallus claudelii tubers are available as a pack of 3, each around 0.5cm in size. Do not be alarmed at the small size of the tubers – fully mature tubers reach only around 2cm in diameter, and are capable of flowering at a little over 1cm.
Amorphophallus claudelii was only formally described to science in 2016. It is a dwarf species from Laos reaching only around 15cm tall. In common with the other really dwarf species, the tubers are naturally very small and potentially capable of flowering at around 1cm in diameter. Our tubers will need another year before reaching this size.
Best treated as seeds due to the naturally small size of the tubers, plant into a well drained compost. Our standard mix is one part good quality compost, one part vermiculite and one part perlite. Cover to their own depth. So far this has been an undemanding little plant.
