Description
Originating from Bhutan, Northern India and Tibet, Amorphophallus napalensis is one of the most Northerly occurring Amorphophallus species in the world. It can also be found at relatively high altitudes at around 3500m. Not surprisingly Amorphophallus napalensis is able to cope with cool and damp UK summers.
As with most Amorphophallus, the strong smelling inflorescence is held on top of a tall petiole. The spathe is a pale creamy colour, occasionally with hints of green. A single, much divided leaf if produced after flowering.
Amorphophallus napalensis is an easy species to grow, and can be stored dry in a frost free environment for the winter.
