Amorphophallus ongsakulii

£10.00

Price is for 3x Amorphophallus ongsakulii tubers – each around 0.5cm in size, perhaps a little larger. Do not be alarmed at the small size of the tubers – mature tubers reach only around 2cm in diameter, and are capable of flowering at a little over 1cm. I cannot stress enough just how small the tubers of this species are! Please see the photo of the tubers we are offering next the cm ruler. Very few available.

A really tiny Amorphophallus species originating from Laos. An ideal plant for the collector, this one will definitely not out-grow your window sill!

Attractive, almost fern-like foliage and small white flowers that do not smell.

Tubers are absolutely tiny and potentially flowering sized at around 1cm. We are offering tubers that will need another years growth before flowering. These tubers are naturally really small, so please do not be alarmed at their tiny size. This is simply how they are. It is best to treat them as you would do with seeds. It seems safe to store the tubers out of the soil whilst dormant. Tubers normally start into growth around April / May.

We grow the tubers in a compost mix of the following proportions: 1 part good quality multipurpose compost, 1 part vermiculite, and 1 part perlite. This seems to give a fine texture, but is very free draining and is ideal for planting the tiny tubers. Gentle bottom heat will help break dormancy.
