Description
Price per 1x tuber of a likely garden-produced cross between Arisaema consanguineum and Arisaema ciliatum. Both of these species are notorious for hybridising and cross breeding with other closely related species. These plants have been produced here and do not fully correspond to either species, but nonetheless are lovely garden worthy plants.
Tubers offered for sale are around 2.5cm in diameter and are borderline flowering sized.
Arisaema ciliatum var.liubaense has impressive brown and green striped inflorescences, held high up within the foliage and is instantly eye-catching. It makes stoloniferous offsets, sometimes appearing quite a distance from the parent plant. Arisaema consanguineum has a plain green inflorescence, and makes offsets attached to the parent tuber. These plants display characteristics of both species with some variation amongst the plant in leaflet diameter and thickness, as well as flower colour, although most are maroon striped as in Arisaema ciliatum var.liubaense. Leaflets are arranged in an umbrella shape at the top of the stems.
Easily grown in the usual Arisaema conditions – light shade and well drained soil.
