Description

Price per 1x seedling tuber of Arisaema fimbriatum spp.fimbriatum ‘Giant Form’. Photo shows the exact tuber on sale.

Arisaema fimbriatum is one of the most extraordinary Arisaema species – made famous for its remarkable long spadix covered in bristly hairs. ‘Giant Form’ is a particularly robust and impressive form that will ultimately go on to produce especially large plants.

From section Fimbriata. Grows in Southern Thailand and parts of Malaysia in humus filled pockets on limestone outcrops at low altitude. We were very fortunate to receive a small number of seeds released by Gothenburg Botanical Garden (likely a ‘one off’ occurance). These are first year seedlings.

Grow in a very open soil structure – moist but very free draining at a minimum temperature of 10-15 degrees C.

A very sought after plant, and only very infrequently seen for sale in the UK.

Aloe suffulta

£10.00
Aloe suffulata is a superb and very rarely seen Aloe species from Southern Africa. Young plants offered that are rooted into 9cm pots. Low growing, it has very long recurved  leaves with spots and striations in an attractive pattern. These leaves are bright green when well watered and kept in slightly shaded conditions, but take on an incredible red colour in full sun or drought. Aloe suffulata makes a most interesting house plant, or alternatively, it can be grown outside for the summer months where it makes an excellent and unusual addition to a dry border. Very rarely seen in cultivation, and hardly ever offered for sale, either here, or anywhere else.

Potentially a spreader in the garden, this is not a recommended plant for a neat and formal border, but makes a wonderful addition to a woodland or wild garden. Please note that seeds germinate easily, but do not show a leaf for until their second year.

Zantedeschia Hercules

Zantedeschia ‘Hercules’

£8.00
Price per 1x Zantedeschia 'Hercules', growing in a 9cm pot. The much sought after and absolutely wonderful 'Hercules'! Capable of growing to immense proportions, with large, glossy leaves speckled with white. The faintly sweet scented inflorescence is large and pure white with a yellow spadix. Vigorous and easy. A 'must have!' Zantedeschia 'Hercules' has been hardy and reliable here planted out in the open garden for many years. Grow in a rich soil for best results (this is a greedy plant). Give a good mulch once it dies back for the winter. With regular watering and feeding during the summer months, this plant will put on some serious growth. A fantastic plant for an exotic style border. Available as young plants raised from division here, established in 9cm pots.
