Arisaema speciosum is a well known plant, however, the variety mirabile is less often encountered. Arisaema speciosum var.mirabile is distinguished from the regular variety by its small stature and thick spongy spadix. Typically the spadix is creamy yellow coloured, however, in this fantastic form it is a beautiful reddish shade. Arisaema speciosum var.mirabile BSWJ2712 was originally from a collection by the renowned plant hunters Bleddwyn and Sue Wyn-Jones but never actually offered by them.
We are offering just a few offsets – these will need growing on for a few years before flowering. Hardy in the garden, grow in light shade in a well drained position.
Plant the horizontal tubers on the shallow side, and lie them horizontally.
