Aspidistra typica ‘Old Glory’.
A lovely, hardy and relatively vigorous form of Aspidistra typica, apparently collected and established in cultivation by Darrell Probst many years ago from Sichuan. We were delighted to obtain a plant a few years ago, and it has propagated well, hence we can offer a small number of plants for sale.
Making broad evergreen leaves with a pronounced pale yellow / greenish stripe running through the length of the leaf. The small flowers are held right at soil level and remind me of an ‘Earth Star’ fungus!
An excellent plant for shade in the garden, and like nearly all Aspidistra, it is a good candidate for dry shade. Equally fine in a pot in a greenhouse, or even as a low maintenance house plant.
We cannot send plants, tubers, bulbs or seeds to EU countries due to Brexit. EU orders cannot currently be placed using the shopping cart on this website.
We aim to dispatch all orders within 5 working days (most are within a day or two). However, please be aware that Ben also works as a full-time gardener in addition to running this webshop, and in very busy periods dispatch may be a day or two longer. Any delays will always be communicated.
