Sow seeds into a good quality seed compost. No special treatment is necessary and germination can take between 2 and 6 weeks or so. Seedlings grow quite quickly and can be potted on as required before planting out. Seedlings can be susceptible to slug damage when young, although this is much less of a problem as the plants grow larger.

Grow in full sun.
