Dyckia frigida is a relatively small clustering bromeliad originating from parts of Brazil. Making rosettes of bright green slightly toothed leaves, these are highly ornamental plants.
Grow in a well drained compost mix in a sunny position. Perfect for pot culture, they will do best frost free but are perfectly happy in cool temperatures. When mature, bright orange flower spikes are produced.
A rewarding and unusual plant. Surface sow the seeds and onto moist compost. Keep damp with gentle bottom heat.
