Price per 1x Hedychium wardii seedling in a 9cm pot.
From China, Hedychium wardii is a particularly beautiful ginger species. It makes robust canes up to around 120cm in height, topped with very unusual clusters of yellow flowers. These are quite distinct in form from other Hedychium species.
Not the hardiest of the Hedychium’s, this will need planting in a warm and sheltered location. In mild areas it can remain evergreen, but usually dies back to the ground for us here in East Devon.
These are seedlings raised here from our own seed. They are currently growing in 9cm pots, and will need to be kept frost free for the first year. They can grow fast under good conditions and quickly reach adult size.
