Description
1x Oxalis flava bulb (Yellow Form).
This attractive South African bulbous plant is not grown as widely as it should be – it is easy in cultivation and makes a superb potted display in an alpine house or greenhouse. Oxalis flava is a tender plant, starting into growth in the Autumn, and remaining in leaf until the warmer summer temperatures force it into dormancy. It doesn’t mind cool or cold conditions, but will need to be kept frost free.
Each bulb makes finely divided leaves with numerous leaflets, each folded with a pleat down the centre. These are worth growing on their own, but the bright yellow flowers are especially attractive.
Easy to grow, and never a weedy plant like so many other Oxalis species.
