Description
1x Pleione limprichtii pseudobulb.
Pleione is a wonderful little genus of Orchids, well known for their superb and brightly coloured flowers, along with general ease of growth. Pleione limprichtii is one of the smaller species. Being a very undemanding species, it makes a good introduction to the genus and an ideal option for a first foray into Pleione culticvation.
The pseudobulbs are naturally rather small, as are all parts of the leaves and flowers. The flower is a bright pink, almost purple colour with darker patterning inside.
Pleione limprichtii is perhaps the hardiest member of the genus, and could be considered a candidate for permanent planting in the mildest corners of the UK.
Plant the pseudobulbs in a mixture of 3 parts bark chips to 2 parts dried sphagnum moss.
