Description
Rhapidophyllum hystrix, the Needle Palm, is a very cold tolerant palm species native to parts of America.
Very slow growing, over time Rhapidophyllum hystrix makes a compact clump with numerous offshoots appearing from the central truck. This is a useful palm and a great alternative fan-palm to other more commonly available species.
Grow in a sheltered and warm position. Some shade for part of the day will help ensure a deep green colour to the leaves.
Plants are seed grown in Devon.
