Being relatively small in size (to around 15 or 20cm), this unusual plant makes an interesting addition to an aroid collection. We are offering the ‘red form’ where stems are leaf margins are red / maroon. The leaf itself is deep green, and the small flowers are real stinkers for their size! Tubers form offsets each season.
Tubers are naturally small in size, but these are fully flowering sized.
Recently moved into Sauromatum from the genus Typhonium, Sauromatum horsfieldii is an easy species. Grow in a well drained compost – we use general multi-purpose compost with added perlite or vermiculite.
Winter dormant. This form is hardy for us in Devon.
