Description

1x bulb of Scilla Peruviana KV695 Ssp nova?

This is potted up in an 11cm pot. Several years old from seed, and not yet flowering sized (perhaps 2 years from flowering).

This form of Scilla peruviana was originally collected by Kurt Vickery. Differing from more common forms, it has very unusual greenish flowers tinged with red. Making prostrate leaves that are relatively thick, almost leathery, and are slightly ciliate or hairy. This is thought to be an as yet undescribed sub-species (Ssp Nova).

This appears to be fully hardy with us here, and makes for a really unusual plant for either the garden, or as an alpine plant grown under glass. Very easy to grow.
