Description
1x seed packet containing 10x Veltheimia bracteata Seeds.
Veltheimia bracteata, sometimes called the Forest Lily or Sand Onion, is a bulbous plant from South Africa. One of only two species within the genus, it makes glossy strap shape leaves, topped off with a cluster of typically pinkish flowers (although these can vary in shade from a very pale yellow through to almost red).
Being a winter grower, Veltheimia bracteata should be grown on a typical Mediterranean bulb cycle and kept in a frost free alpine house or greenhouse. A cool windowsill will also work well.
Easily grown, and a rewarding plant to grow from seed. Plant the seeds in any well drained seed compost.
