Description
Zantedeschia aethiopica, the Calla Lily, is the most widely grown Zantedeschia should need no introduction! Familiar to many and widely grown.
Exotic looking pure white spathes are held above large and glossy foliage. Perfect for adding an exotic touch to any garden.
For the best results, ensure that the soil does not dry out during the growing season. Zantedeschia aethiopica will tolerate both sun or shade and is unfussy with regards to position. Can also be grown as a pond marginal or in a bog garden. Being very greedy plants, ensure plenty of organic matter or fertiliser is applied during the growing season. This will give a bigger plant and prolific blooms.
Although Zantedeschia aethiopica is hardy, it should be given a generous mulch after the first frosts have cut down the foliage.
