Biarum is an interesting and unusual genus, mostly centred around the Mediterranean region. They are seasonally dormant, tuberous species, with small but impressive flowers and spear shaped leaves.

Biarum have a reputation for being a little tricky to grow, and this is true for one or two species, but most are easy enough under the correct conditions. Any specific requirements are given under individual species.
