Bananas are becoming an increasingly popular and viable option for gardens within the UK, and not just in the warmer coastal regions of the South West.

We are growing a range of interesting Banana species, some of which are farily rare in cultivation in the UK.

Musa basjoo and Musa sikkimensis have proven themseleves reliably hardy, certainly so at root level, and numerous others appear to be perfectly happy growing in our cool summer temperatueres when bedded out in the garden.

The growth rate for many bananas can be astonishing – it is only practical to send out plants via mail order when young. Larger plants cannot be sent, however, we are happy for customers to arrange collection.
