Description

Price per 1x tuber of Gonatopus boivinii ‘Green Form’. Tuber approximately 2.5 – 3cm in diameter.

Gonatopus is an African genus containing just five species. Only one of these, Gonatopus boivinii, is found with any regularity in cultivation, and this is still very rarely offered within the UK.

Gonatopus boivinii is easily grown. For us here, it behaves as a seasonally dormant plant, although dormancy is usually pretty short and it stays in growth for a long time. It appears to keep it’s own time and can decide to grow / enter dormancy on it’s own accord. The tuber has fleshy semi-persistent roots and should be stored within its compost mix and kept barely moist until growth starts.

This form has green stems.

When mature, creamy coloured spathes are made with a distinct mottling on the outside.
