Price per 1x dormant tuber of Gonatopus boivinii. Tuber approximately 2-2.5cm in diameter.
Gonatopus is an African genus containing just five species. Only one of these is found with any regularity in cultivation, and this is still very rarely offered within the UK. We are offering this species here.
Gonatopus boivinii is easily grown. For us here, it behaves as a seasonally dormant plant, although dormancy is usually pretty short and it stays in growth for a long time. It appears to keep it’s own time and can decide to grow / enter dormancy on it’s own accord. The tuber has fleshy semi-persistent roots and should be stored within its compost mix and kept barely moist until growth starts.
This form has a ‘zebra’ striped and patterned petiole.
When mature, creamy coloured spathes are made with a distinct mottling on the outside.
