Description
1 x seed pack (10 seeds).
Arisaema sizemoreae is a tropical tuberous speices with a brush-like spadix enclosed within a wide pale green spathe. An absolutely wonderful species which has proven easy to grow.
Being tropical, Arisaema sizemoreae is only suitable for indoor culture. They have thrived here on a bright windowsill (being careful to avoid direct which can scorch the leaves). As with other tuberous Arisaema, these grow on an annual cycle with a period of dormancy during the winter. Growth starts in the spring and lasts until autumn.
Arisaema sizemoreae is a member of Section Fimbriata and is closely related to the well known Arisaema fimbriatum and other species which have a brush-like spadix.
A previous seed batch gave good germination, although germination took a little longer than in some species. Sow into a good quality well drained seed compost and give gentle bottom heat. Germination can take from 6 weeks to 3 months.
