Description
Price per 1x Colocasia esculenta, actively growing and sent as a potted plant.
Colocasia esculenta is very widely grown in the tropics as a starchy food source. It makes ornate ‘elephant ear’ shaped bright green leaves and inflorescences of pale yellow.
Easily grown, the tubers will need warmth to break dormancy. Pot them up with the ‘nose’ just out of the soil in a very well drained compost. Alternatively keep the tubers in just moist sphagnum moss in a warm environment until they shoot, before potting up.
Grow in with sun or light shade, and water and feed frequently for the best growth and largest leaves – these are greedy plants.
