A spectacular species of Sauromatum with large ‘Arum’ shaped leaves and a deep purple / maroon inflorescence. Foliage is large and impressive.
Fully hardy, but very late to start into growth in the UK – late July or even August. For best results it is wise to attempt to start the tubers into growth with some additional warmth, before moving the plants to frost free conditions as Autumn approaches. This helps give the plant enough growing time to nourish the tuber.
