Gloriosa superba ‘Rothschildiana’, the Glory Lily, is a wonderful climbing plant originating from Africa.
Growing from strange, smooth elongated rhizomes, delicate stems are quickly produced with the most exquisite and exotic looking blooms with bright red petals edged in yellow. The climbing stems will need some form of support.
The form ‘Rothschildiana’ is the most popular Glory Lily, and a very showy plant.
Plant the rhizomes horizontally around 2 or 3 inches deep in a good quality potting mix. Warmth and moisture whilst growing will give good results. Requires a bright and sunny spot.
The tubers are tender and will need lifting for the winter. They are easily stored frost free.
