Hedychium flavescens, sometimes known as the ‘Yellow Lily’ or ‘Cream Garland Lily’ is a robust and tall hardy ginger species. Originally found in areas of the Himalayas and other mountainous areas of Asia, it is now widely cultivated around the globe due to its beauty. Established clumps can reach well around 2 metres in height, topped off with pale yellow or cream flowers.
Grow in a rich soil in a sheltered site and feed or mulch heavily for best growth. The mulch will help insulate the rhizomes and also provide the nutrients this plant requires to achieve best growth. This is a fantastic plant.
