Description
Quercus coccinea, or the Scarlet Oak, is an impressive and fully hardy oak from central and eastern America. The large and deeply cut leaves turn an outrageous red colour in Autumn, hence the common name, and in full, fiery glory is an impressive sight.
Ultimately reaching around 20m with a large and spreading crown, the Scarlet Oak is best planted in a large garden and can make a superb specimen plant.
Not all that common in cultivation, but a superb plant.
Sold established in 3L pots.
