A spectacular species of Sauromatum with large ‘Arum’ shaped leaves and a deep purple / maroon inflorescence. Foliage is large and impressive.
Fully hardy, but very late to start into growth in the UK – late July or even August.
Freshly harvested seeds. Sow in any well drained sowing compost. Gentle bottom heat will help speed up germination, but this is still likely to take around 6-8 weeks.
