Description
Macrozamia commnis seed for sale. Price per 1x seed.
These Macrozamia commnis seeds have been ‘float tested’ and will be ready for sowing. Only good seeds supplied! A mature cycad seed should always sink when placed in water. Any that float are likely either immature, or dead.
Macrozamia communis is a cycad from New South Wales, Australia. It forms a large and elegant crown of tough palm-like leaves. The whole plant had a most graceful appearance. When larger, this species is tolerant of cool conditions and will even take light frosts successfully. After the well known Cycas revoluta, Macrozamia communis is said to be the most suitable cycad for the British climate.
Sow these seeds by lying them horizontally and half burying in vermiculite at around 28 degrees C. When they sprout, the radicle will emerge and bend downwards. Seeds can either then be repotted at this stage, with care so as not to damage the radicle, or when the first leaf appears.
