Phormium tenax is a stately and architectural plant with stiff, sword shaped leaves reaching 2m or more in length. Native to New Zealand, this is an important plant for fibre production, and also for creating an exotic effect here in the UK.
Surface sow the seeds on to good quality seed compost and water in lightly. Warm temperatures will ensure quick germination. An easy plant from seed.
