Price per 1x Pinellia cordata flowering sized tuber. This is a dwarf plant and the tubers are naturally small.
Pinellia cordata is a very small plant with narrow arrow shaped leaves and a dwarf inflorescence held level with the foliage. The species seems to be quite variable – this form has plain green leaves and a pale green inflorescence.
This is a naturally small plant and ideally suited to a shady position out in the garden or to pot cultivation (probably a better idea).
This species produces naturally small tubers. Do not be alarmed at the apparent small size, tubers offered are flowering sized. An interesting feature is that Pinellia cordata produces small bulbils on the leaf axils and at the point where the petiole joins the leaf. These drop off in the autumn and can be used to make new plants.
Please note – the image shows a different form of this species with a slight pink flush to the spathe. The form on offer has a plain green flower.
