Aloe arborescens is a very popular and highly ornamental Aloe species. It makes impressive rosettes of softly toothed, long and fleshy leaves which are held on stout trunks up to around 1 metre in very old specimens (usually much less). The flowers are orangey / red.
Hardy down to around freezing, or just above, Aloe arborescens can stay outside for much of the year. We bring our plants under unheated glass for the winter months. This is a beautiful plant and a worthy addition to any succulent collection.
