Cussonia spicata, sometimes reffered to as the Spiked Cabbage Tree, is a member of the Araliaceae family and is related to well-known plants such as Fatsia, Schefflera and Tetrapanax, amongst many others.
Making a large shrub, or small tree, Cussonia spicata has evergreen deeply lobed foliage with a most unusual shape. A superb and unsual plant for the collector of all things Araliaceae! Grow in a sheltered spot away from cold winds.
Soak the seeds for 25 hours and sow immediately on receipt in a good quality seed compost. Warmth will encourage germination.
