1x seed packet containing 10x Musa velutina seeds.
Musa velutina is a dwarf banana species that is tolerant of cool growing conditions, and so is well suited for growing in the UK climate. It is not frost hardy, however, and so will need overwintering in frost free conditions. Being a relatively small and easy banana, this is not too much of a problem.
I have seen reports of flowering acheived after just two years from seed, although this is likely exceptional. Flowers are a stunning bright pink colour, and the actual bananas are also bright pink – and furry too! A wonderful plant and well worth trying from seed.
