Sauromatum diversifolium PBR 189

£9.00

The genus Sauromatum contains a few botanical gems that are rarely seen outside of large botanical institutions. Sauroatum diversifolium is one of these. The inflorescence is one of the most startling and beautiful within the genus.

Easily cultivated in a free draining soil and ideal for pot cultivation due to it’s small size, however, this species is hardy and it may potentially do well in the planted out in the garden in the right spot. Our trials in an unheated coldframe where the pots were subjected to freezing conditions certainly indicate no problems with the cold. Winter wet may be more of an issue, so it is recommended to plant in a well drained spot.

Sauromatum diversifolium PBR 189 was originally collected and introduced into cultivation by Pascal Bruggeman.

Making naturally small tubers to no more than 2cm in diameter, we are offering dormant stolons for sale. These are approx 1cm in size and will need growing on for a year before flowering. This is a naturally small species.
