Here’s a weird plant – Solanum lasiophyllum. This member of the Tomato family makes large leaves covered with silvery down which gives it a striking appearance. Flowers are bright purple. The overall height is to around 70c-80cm.
In its native Australian habitat, it can be found growing in almost pure sand. Drainage is key to success.
Sow seeds into a good quality seed compost at 15-20 degrees.
