1x seed packet containing 10x Sonchus canariensis seeds.
Sonchus canariensis is a rare plant that is endemic to the islands of Tenerife and Gran Canaria. It is becoming increasingly scarce in the wild.
Capable of reaching huge proportions with a maximum height of around 2.5 to 3 metres, the stems are topped by impressive lanceolate and lobed leaves, much like an oversized dandilion. Very dense clusters of bright yellow flowers are produced in late summer.
Sonchus canariensis is an impressive statement plant. Although tender, it is easily overwintered under cool but frost free conditions and can either be bedded out for the summer months, or cultivated in a pot. Pot cultivation keeps the plant to a more manageable size.
Sow these Sonchus canariensis seeds in a good quality seed compost at around 15 – 20 degrees C.
