Zamia floridana is found in Florida, Georgia and Alabama. It is notable for being the only Cycad species native to the USA. It has a reputation for being cool tolerant, which is what attracted us to source and sow seeds of this plant in the first place. I should stress that ‘cool tolerant’ will all be relative – it will certainly require frost free conditions in the winter, but the hope is that it will put on some decent growth during the summer months.
Plants will eventually go on to make lush green leathery leaves up to around 3 feet in height.
