Description

Price per 10x Pinellia pedatisecta seeds.

Pinellia pedatisecta has a slender, tall green spathe with a pronounced spadix appendix. Handsome foliage completes the picture, making this an attractive plant for the exotic style garden or herbaceous border. Each leaf is made up of several leaflets hanging from a central rib.

Pinellia pedatisecta is fully hardy here in Devon, although correct drainage is important for longer term success. Grow in semi shade for best results.

The seed pods of ripe green seeds are an additional attractive feature.

Seed needs a cold period to break dormancy, mimicking conditions found in nature. For best results sow in the winter / early spring, after which germination will occur during the spring – ideal for a good seasons growth. Alternatively, sow the seeds and place the seed tray in a fridge for 1 month, keeping damp. Seed germinates reliably but can be slow and erratic. Additional heat is not required for germination.
