Description

Allium angulosum growing in a 9cm pot.

Allium angulosum, sometimes known as the Mouse Garlic, is a lovely dwarf Allium with a wide distribution in the wild from central Europe and Northern Asia. Non invasive and hardy, it makes an excellent addition to a rockery, flower border or pot.

Summer flowering with attractive purple flowerheads that are loved by pollinators.

The bulbs are unusual, being long and thin, rather like a spring onion. Allium angulosum is edible – both the leaves and bulbs can be cooked or eaten in salads.
