Iris confusa Seeds

£2.00

1x packet of Iris confusa seeds. 10+ seeds. These have been harvested from the cultivar ‘Martyn Rix’.

Iris confusa, the Stalked Iris or Bamboo Iris, is a highly unusual and desirable plant. Making attractive clumps of classic Iris sword-shaped leaves topped with stunningly intricate pale blue flowers in spring and early summer. A most unusual feature is the leaves that are held on top of tall stalks, rather like mini trunks, from which the plant gets its common name. In time, and as the clump grows, the leaves droop down and give an exceptionally lush and beautiful appearance. This effect works very well when combined in a herbaceous border or combined with other leafy plants.

Fully hardy and suited for sun or shade. Iris confusa ‘Martyn Rix’  is a lovely selected form named after the well known plantsman.

Soak these Iris confusa seeds for 24 – 48 hours, changing the water a couple of times. Then sow in a good quality seed compost. Seeds will likley germinate in the spring regardless of time of sowing.
