Fatsia japonica ‘Spiders Web’ Seeds

£2.75

1 x seed packet containing minimum of 15 seeds.

Fatsia japonica is a widely grown evergreen foliage plant grown for its large and handsome glossy palmate leaves. Fully hardy in the UK, it is best grown in shade for a rich deep colour and strong vigour.

Over the years a number of variegated forms have become available, and one of the best is ‘Spiders Web’. This has a pale frosting over the deep green background leaf colour.

Seeds were harvested from ‘Spiders Web’ plants with no chance of cross pollination from another source. We have been informed that only a certain number of seedlings will likely display the variegation, and so a generous quantity of seed will be supplied in each packet.

Sow in a regular seed compost. Gently bottom heat will help with germination but is not strictly necessary.

Agave montana Seeds

£3.50
1 x Agave montana seed packet containing 10 seeds. Agave montana is a Mexican species with stiff and spiny deep green leaves. Over the past few years, Agave montana has taken the horticultural world by storm as it is both easy to grow and can take cold and frosty temperatures with ease. Sow the seeds on the surface of a well drained compost. When larger, plants can be planted outdoors in a very well drained gritty or gravelly soil in full sun. Although this species is very cold hardy, it is well recommended to place a rain cover over the plant during the winter months. Excessive moisture or snow freezing in the crown can sometimes cause problems.

Arisaema consanguineum Seeds

£2.25
1x seed packet containing 10x Arisaema consanguineum Seeds Arisaema consanguineum is a widespread and variable species. Elegant and easy to please, this makes an easy garden plant. These seeds have been collected from plants here growing in the open garden, and consequently are open pollinated (ie, hybridisation cannot be ruled out). However, no other Arisaema are grown in close proximity to these plants, so cross pollination seems unlikely. Spathes are greenish in colouration with hints of brown.

Eucomis comosa Seeds

£1.50
1x seed packet containing 10x Eucomis comosa Seeds Eucomis is a genus of bulbous plants from South Africa. Their common name 'Pineapple Lily' refers to the tuft of leaves held on top of the flower spike, giving the appearance of a pineapple top. Eucomis comosa is one of the easiest species. It is also one of the larger Eucomis and can make quite a statement in a herbaceous border. Glossy strap-shaped leaves emerge in late spring, followed by their remarkable flower. These seeds are our own Eucomis comosa hybrids - parent plants have a mixture of green or deep maroon foliage, with many shades of flower colour. Some of the resultng seedlings will no doubt be quite unusual.

Zantedeschia jucunda Seeds

£4.75
1x seed packet containing 10 seeds of Zantedeschia jucunda. Zantedeschia jucunda, commonly known as the 'Yellow Arum Lily', is a superb species of Arum Lily from the Sekhukuneland mountains in the North East of South Africa. The true species is not common - this plant was originally introduced into cultivation by the late Rod and Rachel Saunders of Silverhill Seeds of South Africa. Making bright yellow urn-shaped flowers, this is an especially beautiful Arum Lily. Fully hardy in an unheated greenhouse, we have not tested it outside unprotected yet, however, it should be hardy in a normal UK winter provided that the soil is not too wet for the colder months. Zantedeschia jucunda seeds germinate readily - soak the seeds for 24 hours and sow into a regular seed potting mix. Gentle bottom heat aids germination.
